Its a Flail Sheath!

Yes, this is a sheath for Perin's new flail. When you have a toy this cool, you need a way to carry it around faire. Well, you do if you are like Perin. So we made this for him.

To answer any questions before they come up:

  1. No, it is not very heavy. It is pretty comfortable actually.
  2. No, there is very little chance of it falling out on its own.
  3. It can be drawn very quickly by the wearer.
  4. It will cost a lot to make one for you. It was not an easy project.

Winners

No one was able to guess what this was made for. But we did get some amusing guesses and decided to award the most creatives ones.

The prize for the "Most Ingenious... and yet incorrect guess" goes to Mark Rosenwald for being the first to guess that it was a "Standard Bearer" to carry a flag on horseback. Lena Jager, Ron Mulligan, John No Last Name Given, and Alex Aethelwulf also guessed a standard bearer but Mark gets the prize for being the first.

The award for "Most Amusing... and yet also incorrect guess" was won by Larry Lagoy for his guess of "the muzzle for a very small-headed ostrich"

A decorated, blue, Sealegaire Pouch is going to each of our winners. Congratulations!

We did get several interesting e-mails for this contest. Here are some of the more amusing ones:

  • A Drinking Horn Sheath
  • A medieval can cozy
  • A holder for the end of a lance
  • A "scary looking codpiece"
  • A "Mad Maxian", double barreled, sawed-off shotgun, sheath
  • A sugar cone holder
  • A Quiver (for arrows or crossbow bolts)
  • "A flower vase to go on a belt"
  • Equestrian penile armour

Or as Chris Summers says; "I have no idea...not that I would feel right about e-mailing."
